The need for international collaboration in education is universally recognised today. The Council for International Programmes [CIP] has made major strides in giving students of St. Xavier’s College opportunities to interact with students and faculty from various parts of the globe. These efforts will undoubtedly give our students the competitive edge and the cultural sensitivity that is essential in today’s globalised world.
SOME UPCOMING EVENTS:
The Visit of Ms. Skye Ward, Summer Programme Officer, U.C. Berkeley on 24th Nov. 2009. She will meet students and parents of students who might want to attend the Summer Programme 2010 at UCB. The summer courses are from the 20th of May to the end of June. There is a wide range of subjects one can choose from, for which certification is secured from the University of California in Berkeley. Several of our students have been going there for the last 5 summers and have reported an enriching experience
Deakin University students will visit from 29.11.09 to 6.12.09. This is a collaborative programme with K.C. College, offering Australian students a cross-cultural experience on an Indian campus.
International Seminar on Human Rights on 10th-12th Dec 2009 in our Campus. Faculty from Colleges in Mumbai and other parts of the country are welcome to register.
Liverpool Hope University, UK students of Religious Studies will visit from 3rd Jan 2010 to 6th Jan 2010. They will interact with our students and faculty on inter-religious issues
Stern Business School, New York University, USA: 20 students of St. Xavier's College will visit NYU in May 2010 for a two week programme, while 20 students from the Stern Business School will visit Mumbai from 9th Jan to 21st Jan 2010. Applications are invited from Second and Third Year students of St. Xavier's College, from any discipline. Students of Economics, Commerce and Management Studies will be preferred. Costs to the student include travel, student accommodation and personal expenses. Scholarships for those economically disadvantaged are available.
13th March to 21st March 2010 - Harvard Students will visit Xavier's and attend a conference on “Social Entrepreneurship: Service, Innovation, and Empowerment” on 19-20 March 2010. Eight students from St. Xavier's College will travel to Harvard in February for an 8 day stay and a programme that will include an International Conference.
